Value Proposition
Value Proposition
Something that has become quite popular in South Africa (and I suppose across the world) is informal markets – like farmers markets. All to cut out the middle man and make things more cost effective. Close to my home, one such a very successful and authentic market, recently refurbished it’s whole setup in order to host all the stall holders in a rather modern building. I think the tents were not that practical in the winter, even though it gave a much more intimate feel in my opinion. I recently had some time to kill and I quickly popped in to see what they had on offer.
I walked past a natural essential oil vendor and asked her to smell the different scents I prefered. I really like Neroli (I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea). I asked the lady to smell it, and her immediate response was that it was “very expensive”. I have my favourite brand in South Africa that has a very specific blend of oils. It smells a lot like neroli and it is pretty expensive. I always order a bottle online, but I use it very sparsely because it’s expensive, but I don’t deny myself that luxury because it really lifts the frequency of my healing space.
Curious to know what else she has on offer, I continue to try a couple of other types. I make my decision that I prefer the neroli and geranium ones the most. Having established that I still want her 100% natural neroli oil in my collection, I ask her the price.
HONESTLY – I didn’t know if I had to feel sorry for her, OR give her a little bit of a wrap over the knuckles to stop sabotaging her business! The price was almost one third LESS than what I normally pay for a bottle with the same volume, but with the same quality content!
The sad thing is I could immediately see that this were rooted in some feelings of being insecure about the value proposition of her product. The fruit of that insecurity is inevitably a poverty consciousness. Now sure, all clients will not be used to paying three times the same price for this product. All her potential clients will not see the value of what she offers (it’s 100% pure essential oils that is not blended with other oils) on offer at the same price that you buy mixes in popular retail chains. But, she does not have the confidence in herself to make potential customers see what she has on offer.
I think herein lies a very big lesson for healers. The fact remains – THE WORLD NEEDS MORE HEALERS but, and this is a big BUT…… we need healers who stop offering their services from a place of inferiority. If you do not believe in your self and your service, you can not make your client see your worth, nor will they see the benefit of what you offer.
How YOU carry yourself as a healer, will make a client trust you, or not! How you talk about your offerings will make your client trust you or not. How you THINK about your services, will make your client trust you, OR NOT!
I really believe that the healings and classes of The Modern Mystery School is penny for penny worth what you pay for it.
I paid to get a spiritual growth curve, and because of what I’ve seen it do in my life, I can offer it to my clients with conviction, because I know they will derive benefit from it (if they follow the guidelines and parameters given off course).
Just like I have! I’m not offering anything that I haven’t tested myself, and 13 years is a LONG time of testing! And it still hasn’t failed me! In fact, I find myself falling more and more in love with this path, the longer I walk it! I will forever be grateful to the person who introduced me to this work! She changed my life! Not only mine – the whole trajectory of my whole family dynamics!
Are you a professional healer, or do you want to be a full time professional healer, BUT you are not taking the jump because you can’t get clients in through the door? It’s all linked to self worth and your ability to make your client (who desperately needs your service by the way!) see the value of what you can offer them. In marketing terms this is what is referred to as the value proposition.
Have you got yours figured out? I believe it’s time for the healers of this earth to arise and bring back joy, health, healing, hope, faith, goodness and progress in humanity! You can not do this if you are not able to even sustain your physical body with sustenance from what you earn. If you are going to be a professional healer, you should have absolutely no problem to charge a professional fee like any other chosen vocation. Being a healer and spiritual teacher IS NOT an inferior vocation and it is NOT just “dumb” people or “losers” who can’t cope with reality! Being able to flow and direct energy is an incredibly difficult art to master! We are SPIRIT and everything is SPIRIT – therefore you create change from spirit and the way to do this is to become spiritually aware and savvy!
May your heart arise to your calling!
Love and Moonlight,
Leonie
